AAPT & UKDVI Training Day

AAPT & UK Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) today provided a one-day intensive training programme that has been developed for all grades of Anatomical Pathology Technologists (APT).

The day allowed APTs to consider how their own mortuaries would function if utilised in a DVI incident.

Working in groups, delegates using their own mortuary layouts, highlighted all the required areas in such an incident and how the DVI process would flow.

Next step for delegates: apply to be a member of the APT UKDVI team

Learning Outcomes

  • APTs fully aware of APT UKDVI Team, Roles Responsibilities, Deployment Protocol
  • APTs fully aware of the DVI process and how this impacts on the mortuary
  • APTs fully aware of the DVI paperwork and the Reconciliation Process
