Congratulations to the AAPT Emergency & Preparedness Lead Alison Anderson who has been awarded the Honour of MBE for 'Services to Anatomical Pathology'.
Apart from her dedication to the training and development of APTs in the NHS, she has worked tirelessly for the AAPT.
Alison worked in Bosnia and Kosovo and was, together with AAPT Fellow Jim Green, a first responder to the tsunami in Thailand and witnessed the 'opened gates to hell' - AAPT Fellow Michael Conway did the same in Sri Lanka.
It was her work in Fromelles where she really gained the respect and admiration of forensic experts, who regarded her professionalism so highly.
Well done Alison, enjoy your 'big' day at the Palace. James Lowell, Chair of the AAPT said "I am sure you will join me in wishing Alison Anderson MBE well, as she receives this great honour. Words cannot describe how proud we all are of her as she continues to represent our profession in such an impeccable manner. Alison receives this tremendous honour for her continued and tireless dedication to Anatomical Pathology; she truly is an inspiration to us all. The TAPTs can look upon her career with inspiration, as she effortlessly represents what an APT can achieve with hard work, strong ethical grounding and a honest endeavor.
Many congratulations to Alison for receiving the public recognition she truly deserves"
