PHE Guidance for care of the deceased with suspected or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19)

Further to input from the AAPT and RCPath, the PHE guidance is more comprehensive

What has changed in this update?

The updated guidance provides details about:

• the PPE required for other activities which may be involved in the management of the deceased (for example, transporting the deceased),
• clarification of the language on the risk assessment,
• guidance on where information should be shared with others where coronavirus (COVID-19) infection is suspected or confirmed in the deceased so that funeral directors and others can assess their risk appropriately

The updated guidance has now also be added to the AAPT COVID-19 resources domain
