The AAPT recently passed on an alert received from the Coroner’s Society of England and Wales and the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management, which stated that, if left on, GTN patches may pose a risk of explosion during cremation.
Subsequently, we received conflicting information, so decided to investigate further.
As a result of our investigation, we are withdrawing the alert and advise members that GTN patches are not thought to pose an explosive risk, and may be left in situ.
If you require further information on the detail of this decision, please e-mail the AAPT Vice-Chair, John Pitchers FAAPT.
