Viewing the deceased within a NHS mortuary; gathering views of staff within the death profession
Shane at the University of Winchester is completing a piece of research exploring the use of NHS mortuary viewing facilities
The overall aim is to assess the current services available and, if required, providing guidance on improving services for the bereaved, particularly in minority community groups.
This questionnaire is for people over the age of 18-years, who regularly facilitate or attends NHS mortuary viewings as part of their profession. The questions explore what facilities are offered to the bereaved for viewings within the mortuary, and asks for your views on the function of a mortuary ‘viewing room’ as a sacred location.
All questions are optional, and data is anonymous. The survey will take about 20 minutes, and all responses are appreciated. Thank you.
