Are you an APT Student at Level 3 or 4?

Then you might wish to become the next AAPT Council student representative

The AAPT Council has a co-opted seat available - that of the Student Representative. We are very grateful for the outgoing Student Rep Gemma Norburn MAAPT who has excelled in providing a voice for student APTs given this is a very difficult time for many trainees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Do not fear, Gemma will also remain co-opted whilst you settle into the role, and for the foreseaable future the AAPT Council are meeting over Zoom.

The main purpose of the role:

  • To liaise with Centre provider of APT qualifications at North Tees to promote AAPT with the possibility of speaking to students as an introduction to AAPT upon commencing training programmes
  • To liaise with students on all training courses by means of joining various student networks currently in operation
  • To report back to the AAPT Council on a regular basis of student concerns / compliments and progress with APT qualifications – face to face & written report
  • To be involved in relevant committees as the student representative to promote the student voice and provide signposting to events of interest that would support student learning
  • To be a regular contributor to AAPT news forums – website / Facebook & Twitter – promote good news stories of students achievements
  • To signpost students with specific concerns / ideas or improvements to committees within the current AAPT structure
  • To attend the Annual Educational Event (possibly have a student rep table / area)
  • To promote the online AAPT CPD portfolio
  • To participate in AAPT careers webinar events

If you would like to express an interest, email the AAPT Secretary by no later than 8th January 2021 and tell us a little bit more about how and why you fulfil the role.

And obviously you must be a member of the AAPT!
